There are still some notions about offering free wireless Internet in all of the French Quarter, but that won't be cheap, either, or happen anytime soon.
Until then, here's a handy list of places around town that offer free wi-fi to their customers, members, or the general public. As wi-fi tends to go down for lack of service or get discontinued without notice, please use the phone numbers to call places and make sure everything's still working before you show up with your laptop.
