American Idol Louisiana Finalist Joshua Ledet

Have you seen - and heard - the American Idol Louisiana Finalist Joshua Ledet? He's making a splash on the popular TV show's eleventh season and is popular with the judges and the audience. Wonder if he will make it to the end?

Here's the scoop on Joshua, Louisiana's favorite son in the Ameriocan Idol competition 2012.

Joshua is still a teenager - 19 years old.

Westlake is his home, a town near Lake Charles, Louisiana

Joshua tried out last season and didn't make the cut.

Soulful music is his favorite to sing.

But he's really a country music fan. When listening to music, Joshua enjoys country music the most.

His father's church was the place Joshua first sang in public. He was three years old.

Learning the lyrics has been the toughest part of the competition so far according to Joshua.

Fantasia Barrio is his favorite American Idol, because of her voice, style, personality, what she's been through, and her never-give-up attitude.

When told he made the 24 finalist cut, at first Joshua thought it might be a trick. He couldn't believe it because there was so much talent in the group.

Singing is number one in his life. In his spare time otherwise he hangs out with friends, goes to the movies, and chills.

Joshua's main goal is "expressing myself through my music. "

Joshua claims he has a unique personality and can be goofy, crazy, and funny.

In the finalist rounds, Joshua wowed American Idol with his renditions of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish" and "When a Man Loves a Woman". In fact Jennifer Lopez said she "couldn't stop saying 'wow'" after he sang "When a Man Loves A Woman". She also said it was the best thing she had ever seen on American Idol.

Idol judge Randy Jackson speculated credit for that incredible performance from Louisiana's Joshua somehow came from the crawfish he and Ron Seacrest brought back from their recent trip to New Orleans. New Orleans food is incredibly powerful.

"When a Man Loves a Woman" was sung on the night when contestants picked a selection from the year of their birth. Although "When a Man Loves a Woman" is older than Joshua, it was remade in the year he was born.

Joshua's rendition of "When a Man Loves a Woman" will be on the American Idol compilation idols of finalists.

Joshua's response to the fill-in-the-blank Idol question was as follows: I am the next American Idol because "I can sing ... and I'm just so darn cute." Stay tuned, he just might be the next American Idol.
