Just in time for your holiday charitable instincts - Volunteer to help build a new New Orleans playground in Gentilly this Saturday (Dec. 22, 2012).   Harris Park was selected in a competitive process for a "Little Hands" park, which will be created thanks to The Pontilly Community, Longue Vue House and Gardens, Allstate and the City of New Orleans. The playground's ribbon-cutting ceremony is on Jan 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. and it's all part of the Sugar Bowl festivities in New Orleans.

Sign up by tomorrow (though no one will be turned away) for a shift: 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 12 to 5 p.m.  Age 16 or up. No experience necessary. For info, call 504.388.9876 or email hschackai@longuevue.com.
