Medieval Christmas Concerts

By November 30, 2011

Follow me on:

You won't hear the usual Christmas music at the annual medieval Christmas music concerts in New Orleans by Musica da Camera.  The  concerts present  authentic music from the middle ages in Europe on historically-correct musical instruments.  This year, the concerts will also include English Renaissance songs and early American folk music of the holidays. The concerts are fascinating  and free!  New Orleans own Musica da Camera is the oldest early music group in the country.

You can go back in time for Christmas courtesy of Musica da Camera either this weekend or next:

- December 4, 2011 at Ursuline Chapel, 2701 State St., uptown New Orleans at 4 p.m.

- December 11, 2011 at Holy Name of Mary Church, 500 Eliza St. in Algiers Point at 3 p.m.
