On Saturday, June 4, 2011, the every expanding National WWII Museum in New Orleans will officially open the John E. Kushner Restoration Pavilion. Visitors will be able to watch the restoration of a PT-305 boat in the Kushner Pavilion, which will also have a wood shop and areas for welding, painting, and fabrication.
At the grand opening on Saturday, there will be behind-the-scenes tours every half hour starting at 11 am until 4:30 pm, as well as special exhibits and educational activities. Everything is included with regular admission, but tour tickets are limited and will be available at the main ticket desk in the main building, first come, first serve.
